Discovery Rule (for asbestos-related diseases):
A cause of action…from the time the claimant knows or should have known of the [asbestos-related] disease, rather than at the time of the exposure to asbestos or at the time of diagnosable injury. Larson v. Johns-Manville Sales Corp., 427 Mich. 301, 304-305 (Mich. 1986).
Personal Injury/Wrongful Death:
The period of limitations is 3 years after the time of the death or injury for all other actions to recover damages for the death of a person, or for injury to a person or property. Mich. Comp. Laws § 600.5805.
