Over the life of their grants program, they have awarded in excess of $279 million to more than 1,900 projects. Through the fundraising efforts of their donors the Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) has become the largest private funder of lupus (an auto immune disease which affects over 1.4 million individuals) research in the world. By year's end, they will have committed $50 million to lupus research. They've made progress towards the goal of finding new treatments and, one day, a cure for lupus; but the ALR is not there yet. Each employee will also wrote a personal note to include in the package thanking the man/woman for serving in the military and protecting the freedoms that we all enjoy everyday. Attorneys in Madison County stepped up to help those in need by donating canned goods and non-perishable food items to local pantries.
